I wish I could say that I believe Kath loves Mike Caffee, and that he loves her! People keep telling him that Kath is the best thing that ever happened to him, but is it really true?
Maybe we need a definition of love! Mike was right to tell her he could not cope with her having his baby. I do not see her pregnancy as a light from above! Maybe, if he had not been beaten by Declan, that wonderful cop who thinks he did the right thing in almost murdering Mike, the sexual heat between Mike and Kath, which is built mainly on old-time memories, could grow into a loving relationship.
Kath describes Mike as an animal in bed. Is that necessarily love? Come on now! Since when does that mean the same thing as treasuring another person, enduring their good and bad sides, making the harsh decisions yourself and not blaming the other companion in life.
If Kath really loved Mike she would know he could not cope with her pregnancy, with her changes, with her presenting him with a child for which he must take a full fatherly responsibility. I think Kath is lucky Mike made the right decision. And I think part of his decision should be to move on, move ahead, move past the girl of his youth, and grow up!
If Mike is to survive in the dangerous world of his business -- murder, mayhem, and mobs-- he must find his strength in himself. He has plenty of it.

IMO, Michael wanted Kath to have the abortion, because he does love her, and not only can't he cope with being a Father, he doesn't want 2C Kate or "their"
family hurt, as he saw Freddie's wife and kids hurt...
You can't have a family and kids, and be a gangster, in Michaels opinion.
It's too dangerous...when he was walking to that nice house to break in, he was talking to Colin about having a nice house like, knowing your wife and kids would be safe there...
As to Love, I think Michael has the emotion and physical act as the same...
What I mean, is that is the closest he will ever get to Love, the physical relationship he has with Kath...
Poor Kath, I think she truely loves Michael, and really wanted to have his child.
Unfortunately, Michael was unable to communicate his feelings and reasons, and it was all taken wrong, by Kath...But, you can't blame her, she is now afraid of Michael, after the gas station incident, when he threw the paint roller and came toward her, she took a few steps back...
I think it was horrendous the way Michael has treated her, especially after she has been there for him time and again since his brain trauma...
I don't think we will be seeing them together again for the remainder of this season...
Boy, I was wrong, wasn't it? LOL
Michael wasn't being noble to Kath, he is being selfish. He is not a 1 woman man..He wants 2B free to pursue other woman, although sexually, only...
He tells Kath, I'll be home way before Breakfast, kisses her goodbye, then goes off with some way younger woman, just to have sex...Maybe he does Love Kath, but he's not ready to commit to a relationship. He likes being out there, doing what he wants...When he was sitting with Kath, watching TV, it reminded me of what Married couples do, that have kids...
Michael didn't like that at all, he was bored.
